Final language workshop today. We looked at the themes of the play, and went through material from the RSC website and the book Prospero's Island.

Humanity v. Monsters

We talked about how these themes will be conveyed in the production, what they mean to our characters, and the overall message we are trying to share. Our main theme will be alchemy: the idea of Prospero's journey being one of enlightenment. Lots of discussion about gender, whether Prospero could be male or female, how a woman playing that role will change/add to the character. Fun stuff!
